SIANSANGU, SIDNEY

Sydney Kacele Siansangu was born on the 7th of September, 1978. He did his high school at Chikankata Mission School in Mazabuka, Southern Province of Zambia from 1996 to 1998. He then continued to Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce to pursue an Art Teachers’ Diploma from 2000 to 2002.


Sydney is a Sculptor working primarily in wood, mixed media and Graphic Design. His artistic journey began in the early 2000’s. He has participated in several locally and internationally organized exhibitions as well as receiving three National (Ngoma) Awards.


His works are in many private collections throughout Zambia, Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Notable collectors include the king of Morocco, and the palace in Oman. Whilst working out of his home studio, Sydney is currently a third year student pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with Zambian Open University and also teaches Art at Munali BoysSecondary School in Lusaka.
